VHOLUME Route Difficulty Tier List
Sort demo lines from welcoming literacy tracks to punishing medal gauntlets.
Not every VHOLUME line teaches the same lesson. This page tiers routes by learning cost so you stop grinding the hardest medal first. Use it beside the Demo Walkthrough and Gold Medals.
S-Tier learning routes (start here)
Hub / primary outdoor circuit — readable loop, clear failure states, ideal for Getting Started habits.
Short rooftop connectors — teach jump timing without labyrinth stress.
Master these before obsessing over advanced apartment skips.
A-Tier intermediate routes
Apartment / interior weave lines — tighter cameras, more redirects, still fair.
Mixed vertical climbs inside race flow — demand movement tech literacy.
B-Tier punishing optimisations
Skip-heavy medal routes — require Shortcuts & Secrets consistency.
Drop-adjacent aggressive lines — high wipe cost; practise segments.
C-Tier vibes routes
Pure exploration towers and side districts — essential for love of the world, optional for clocks. Document them, then return to medal work via the checklist.
Suggested order
- S-tier literacy
- A-tier comfort
- Ghost comparison (Multiplayer & Ghosts)
- B-tier gold push
- C-tier soul walks (story & lore)

Re-tiering rules
Promote a route if you can teach it to a friend in one session. Demote a route if it demands a skip you cannot hit five times in a row. Personal tiers may differ from this page; keep a private column in the medal checklist. The public list exists so newcomers stop grinding the nastiest line on day one.
Closing note
Keep one insight from « Route Difficulty Tier » beside your next demo launch, then verify it on concrete before chasing gold on 21 August 2026 prep nights.
Ranking principles
Difficulty here means time to calm bronze for a new runner, not WR impossibility. The hub abyss can rank harder than Conapts for some players even when gold on Conapts feels easier—capture both sensations in notes. Demo2’s two new mains should be inserted after you earn bronze, not after one panicked attempt.
Suggested provisional order (subject to your hands)
- Hub / Racetrack literacy
- Conapts interiors 3–4. Newer Demo2 maps (place after personal bronze)
Hidden wings from Hidden Maps may feel easier or harder than mains depending on gates. Re-rank monthly. Cross-link Speedrun Basics when difficulty becomes category routing instead of medal learning.
Teaching friends with tiers
Hand friends the next easier map, not your favourite obsession. Use ghosts near their pace. Keep Getting Started as the onboarding spine. When full release multiplies districts on 21 August 2026, reuse this ranking method rather than copying demo order blindly.
Avoid prestige traps
A map is not more authentic because it is harder. Rotate easier maps to rebuild confidence after tilt. Medal checklist breadth beats a single brutal PB drought.
Logging difficulty without drama
Score each map from one to five for lethal drops, sightline complexity, and length. Average the three scores after bronze. That number is your difficulty tier seed—more honest than copying a stranger’s ranking from a comment thread.
Page-specific closer
Rank maps with your hands, not a stranger’s ego, then sleep on the ranking before teaching friends.
Persist with bronze-first ranking until Demo2’s new mains have honest scores in your notebook.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Should I gold the hardest map first?
No. Build literacy on friendlier circuits, then transfer skills.
Do interior maps count as harder?
Often yes—tighter space raises redirect difficulty even when length is similar.
Where do exploration routes fit?
Usually C-tier for medals but S-tier for enjoying VHOLUME’s mood.
Will launch maps reshuffle tiers?
Yes. Revisit after 21 August 2026.
